Dholera Satyagraha begins
Following Gandhi breaking the salt law at Dandi on 6 April 1930, Amritlal Seth led about 21 satyagrahis in a salt-law civil-disobedience action at Dholera port. A larger contingent under Balwantrai Mehta followed around 13 April.

The Archaeological Survey of India excavated the Indus Valley (Harappan) site of Lothal, home to what the ASI calls the world's earliest known dock, in the same Ahmedabad district about 36 km from Dholera (approximate).
